Case Study Lianne Bowen, Vitality Franchise

Case Study – Lianne Bowen – Columbus Fifty Three Ltd t/as Vitality

We first met Lianne when she was in the process of taking over a Vitality Franchise and was looking to run her own limited company for the first time. Understandably Lianne was unsure what was needed in setting up and running a company, and was feeling rather stressed about everything.

Company Set up

Lianne had already set up her limited company with Companies House, but wasn’t sure of the next steps. We guided Lianne through the next steps, and got her registered with HMRC for Corporation Tax, PAYE and VAT as was needed. We also put her in contact with our recommended IFA so she could get her pension scheme sorted for Auto Enrolment.

Day to Day Accounting

We got Lianne set up on Xero from the start, along with Receipt Bank. We showed Lianne how to use Receipt Bank to upload her receipts for a hassle free way of doing her day to day accounts. We then connected her bank account to Xero so we could look after the bank reconcilication through the bank feed, working with her uploaded receipts.

We also worked with our recommended IFA to get the pension scheme up and running alongside the payroll for the monthly returns, as well as completing the AE declaration in plenty of time.

Having up to date accounting information means Lianne can keep an eye on her finances throughout the year in a few clicks, aided by our quarterly reports, she knows exactly where she stands with the tax man.

This helped Lianne to take a weight off her shoulders so she could focus on other parts of setting up her company and actually trading, knowing her accounts and payroll were in safe hands, with an accountant who actually cared about her and her business.

Lianne said “you are just what I have been looking for, I wasn’t sure I’d find a ‘human’ accountant!”
